Midnight sun in Japan

Happy new year everyone.

Jackie and I met up in Japan and she was amazing. We had so much fun and it felt like we had never not been tougher for the long time we’ve known one another. I was extremely sad when we had to say goodbye at the airport. I’m currently still there waiting four hours more for my eleven hour flight.

 

We worked a little on midnight sun but we still haven’t finished typesetting the chapter so while I’m at it we are in need of a type setter if anyone wants to join us you have to have no Japanese or artistic skill whatsoever and we can teach you everything.

 

Anyway jackie said the reason she has made no posts is because she’s scared of you guys since she hasn’t made any posts in forever and is embarrassed so convince her please!!!!

Status update.

Hello everyone:

I was hoping to get the next chapter out by the end of the year but I don’t know what going on. Sorry for delay. It’s really close to being done, it’s just that final push to get it all together that we keep procrastinating on.

I also screwed up the site by accidentally changing the theme, so the polls and posts etc. are missing, but I’ll get onto fixing them back sometime

I’m heading off to Japan in six days (exciting!) hopefully I’ll improve my Japanese enough to be able to translate myself. I’m also excited because I might be able to meet Jackie for the first time. Going to be fun!

 

Well hello there?

Everybody has been probably wondering “WHERE ON EARTH HAVE YOU GUYS BEEN?”

Well, the answer is, we have been busy with work and uni and then stuff. BUT
Look at the progress bar! 96.6% YES
We are going to release a chapter VERY soon.

And I’ll leave the honours of writing that post to Jackie since she hasn’t written a post in a while.
So I’ll do my rambling here.

We got a lovely email from ArieSP/PSP recently and she included some beautiful hand drawn fan art for us. We thank you so much and thank you for writing to us, it really brightens our day. I hope you don’t mind I balanced out the contrast on the pencil on your drawings so it’s a little clearer to read.

Now some of you may have noticed I haven’t been approving “Password applications” recently, that’s because there are no chapters in there that aren’t already released in the normal area. (I don’t think?) If I’ve made a mistake tell me on the Form page or send me an email (Note: Sometimes I forget to check Midnight email address so super sorry if I take a while to reply. I’ll have to make a system to improve that.

Chapter 20 is going to probably be started quite quickly because I’m going to have a shot at translating so I can get some practice in before I head off to Japan in January. (But don’t worry, Jackie will be checking my work every step of the way, so the released version will not have any randomosities lost in translation)

Months later…

Hi all!

I’m alive! Surprisingly. Man do I have stories for you. For example, I was the last to leave school recently. I left at 11:30pm… so I had to lock the gates. It was… an experience for sure. I never thought I would have a 16 hour work day… but that’s Japan for you xD.

As I was locking up, one of the gates started squealing like a pig being murdered.

My school’s in the middle of a residential area, and so the whole time I was dragging the heavy metal gate into place, I was fervently praying, “please hurry and close… and please don’t call the cops on me. I swear I’m not killing anyone…”

As soon as it was shut, I chained it up really quickly and bolted for it xD.

What’s new in Chapter 18? Well it’s a little short, but I feel like it more than makes up for it’s lack in length with it’s content. The plot thickens.

Many of you may have seen the polls on the side bar. Both me and Jackie called it. We bet each other our fortunes that nearly everyone was going to vote for the masked guy. And what do you know, we were right.

On the other hand, I’m finding a disproportionate amount of people are thinking Mukade are beautiful. Does that mean I have a chance at being godly gorgeous too? *Strikes a pose*

If you are missing Jackie, I feel ya. She hasn’t posted in a while, but I know she is really busy. She has a whole class of kids to teach. We haven’t started chapter 19 but I hope that sometime in the soon future she will find a moment to drop by and say all the stuff she’s been dying to say to you guys a say.

Chapter 18 kind of released (edit: + FANART)

Hey guys, I cannot apologise enough for this horrible delay in release. Jackie got a bit sick and is feeling a little under the weather, so we won’t be able to put up the online reader yet.  Because we are unable to process those pages I’m released Chapter 18 for download in the PROTECTED DOWNLOADS section. Anyone who already has the password will be able to read it, but unfortunately everyone else will have to wait until we have Jackie back on her feet and get the pages processed.

Seriously dude?-.- Anyway, Chapter 18 is almost here.

Good news everyone, we’ll be uploading Chapter 18 in a couple of days or so, maybe on the weekend latest. Just letting Jackie cool down from her trip. So sorry to keep you all waiting, but a busy bee will never slow down. XD

In other news, I find the persistence of the people uploading our chapters to mangafox getting to the point of funny.
I’m not even mad. It takes dedication for someone to go to that effort, but ultimately, they ended up suffering for it.
Right now I’m just really hoping that mangafox will allow us to replace that crap version with the proper version. It’s ruining midnight sun for everyone.

Generally we want to release a chapter on mangafox one release later than here. Chapter 17 would have been released there when we released 18 here, which is in a few days anyway.

So, to the one out there doing this; I’m laughing because you’ve uploaded, poor, crap quality HALF pages to mangafox, which really hurts the eyes and provides a poor reading experience for the people who are reading it there. You get to read it here anyway, and they can read it here as well, or wait a few more days for our actual HQ release. You’re not getting anything out of this other than a cheap name on the upload link. Nobody even cares about who that is.

But as I said, not even mad this time XD considering firstly it probably took you ages to  save and sort through all of those pages, an secondly, you uploaded crap half pages. You even saved time by not even putting our credit page in.

So next time be so kind as to include that would you? I’m sure if those mangafox people really didn’t want to wait a whole extra week for a chapter then they could just come over here instead of reading it in poor quality? Do everyone a favour.

Edit: XD XD I missed it before because I didn’t really look closely but Jackie just pointed out that this idiot uploaded all of the HALF pages, so the people on mangafox have to read the left half of the page then the right half separately. Absolutely ridiculous lol. 

16.5 Available for Download and update

Hey everyone,

Chapter 16.5 is now available for download from the public downloads page (NOT the protected downloads) because I’ve now uploaded it onto mangafox.

The pattern will probably continue like that, we’ll release the chapter on the website on the reader, then maybe two releases or x amount of weeks later we’ll upload it to mangafox and also make public download available.

In other news, what’s new with us? What’s new with you?

Well there are two polls up at the moment, so take second to vote in them. The first poll is inspired by Jackie’s adventure with the Mukade and how some of you thought it looked … beautiful? Eh, someone needs their eyes checked. I know for sure I’ll be hiding my wives or whatever. 

The second one is about secondary characters, and both me and Jackie would put money on who is going to win that one. (Oh I bet you all can guess) In my case, I like Gonou-san, because I can relate to him. (I’m not rich, but I’d rather give away money than die so easily you know?) 

Okay, okay… you want to know what’s going on with chapter 18.

“WHY DOES IT SAY SO MANY DAYS TO GO WHEN IT’S ALREADY AT 95%!” The heaving crowd roars. Alas, C is left alone to deal with the hungry mob, capable of the unknown while Jackie makes her escape in a helicopter.

Well, Jackie is going away for a short while, she’s back next week I think, and she’s the one who does the editing of typos and the uploading and editing of pages before I code it all together in the website (She also thinks we’re spoiling you too much, you know what your mother used to say abut overfeeding your pets…)

Anyway, chapter 18 will be released when Jackie gets home from her helicopter joy ride. So hold tight my friends, and in the mean time, enjoy staring at the polls that not enough people vote on.

Midnight Sun Chapter 17 Released!

Hi Everyone,

So… I’m pretty reluctant to post right now. Partly because I just finished typesetting everything and splicing some pages and stuff, and partly because I suspect some of you are out there sharpening your pitchforks and other weaponry at my having ditched you for months…

I feel like Homer. xD

School is awesome, but exhausting. I’ve been working with my kids on their speeches. They’re gearing up to compete against each other soon. Unfortunately, I’m going to miss their performance because I’ll be flying off to Osaka (again) to meet up with my friends. It’s kind of crazy and tiring for an indoor-sy girl like me xD.

So, some of you (who actually read the words C and I write) know that the reason I’ve been MIA for a while is because my brother was living with me for a couple of months. It was a blast, and also really draining. Still, when he left, I felt so, so depressed.

The day I saw him getting into a taxi to leave, I had to go to school. So I sat at my desk, teary and so very sad for a long, long time. My co-workers and friends would ask me what was wrong and I almost burst into tears. Thankfully, I didn’t actually cry in front of my students. xD

I wanted to greet you all with a happy post, but I can’t think of any super hilarious stories right now. Lots of things happened though, that I’d like to share eventually xD.

For example, I got bitten by a mukade (a super poisonous caterpillar centipede – C very nicely corrected me. I’ve been in Japan too long. I’ve forgotten my English lololol xD – that can apparently kill a small animal or an infant). Luckily for me, the mukade that bit me was small. But HOLY HELL it hurt like &@!#!!!!
I cried like a baby. This was weeks ago and still I have a scar from where its fangs pierced my skin.

I would post a picture of a mukade here, but I figure some of you are like me and would need to tab out hahaha. If you’re curious… google is your friend. <3. Unless you’re in China. In which case, Google is non-existent. Yay for internet censorship -_-…

ANYWHO. That was a long tangent. The most important part is…

Cae and I finally sat down to work. And now we bring you Chapter 17! It’s the start of a brand-new volume~ And we finally get to see more of the Assassination-arc that Toshimi-sensei has been building up.

At the same time, we’re getting closer to the (discontinued) ending. Hm… wonder what we should do after that… o.O Any suggestions? (Preferably with raws already available xD).

[Edit by C: If you are making suggestions, take note, I will absolutely NOT do anything with any kind of sexual porn/hentai scenes in it and I doubt Jackie wants to either]
