Chief Captain Security Hero Position

Hey guys, once again, thanks for your tremendous support when those Scumbags do their jobs. Jackie had a brilliant idea for protecting the online reader, however last night I spent hours trying to make it a reality to no avail.
So I’m opening up a position on our team as Chief Security Defense Captian Hero Awesome Officer

Requirements:
-Decent knowledge of basic html, and how the basic text editors for these wordpress sites work. (I know it may be tempting to say ‘I can learn if I try hard enough” but then that puts you in the same shoes as me. We really want someone who already knows more than me with html.
-Somewhere to safely and privately host images (eg photobucket or anything else)

Advantages of position:
-Read releases first
-Be awesome
-Fight justice by foiling those super-villain scumbags.
-Generally low work load. It might even be a one off. The one thing may take a little effort but after that it will be a cruise or you won’t have to do anything.

I am beyond disbelief. What am I even supposed to say?

Some SCUMBAG has once again taken our chapter and put it on mangafox, only within a few hours of us releasing the chapter.

The bastard this time was actually a different person from last time, and do you know what they did? They went and downloaded every page from our online reader JUST to upload them to the website. In the end the people who applied for the password were the honest ones.
How do I know this? 1. The online reader’s quality is lesser, and 2. I watermarked a few pages of the online reader so I could tell if someone did just that.

Jackie and I were so inspired by your supportive comments last time this happened, that we worked hard and got you a manga release in 5/6 days. Such a short amount of time….
and this is how we are repaid.

I know it’s not the fault of most of you. But now we know that there isn’t even just one bastard scumbag out there, but more than one.

And now I really don’t know what I’m going to do. I don’t think Jackie is as angry as I am, but I hate this and the lack of control it gives us over our own effort.

Just don’t expect another chapter any time soon.

And if you  are reading this, those scumbag people, go and punch yourself in the face and never come back.

Firstly, from both Jackie and I, thank you EVERYONE for all your support. It really cheered us up and we feel much better now. Good NEWS too. Lets move away from the bad stuff.

Chapter 16 has officially started.

As you can see in the progress bar on the top of this post, we have already made some progress. That’s what a progress bar is for. However, regarding the recent bad news, there is something different we will be doing this time, so please, proceed to read.

Chapter 16 download link will not be publicly released. The online reader however, will be free for all to view. Chapter 17’s download link will also be released, but not chapter 16. I know that some of you do like to download the chapters, so it’s not impossible to get it. There will be an apply for download form released when chapter 16 is, so you will need to personally apply for permission to download the file. We will then screen and check that you are worthy to wield the powerful link. Intense. If you are a regular and often comment on the site and have supplied your email in the past you should have nothing to worry about.

Now…. finally… that bad news post sort of stopped me from posting some TERRIBLE art I had drawn. So I am going to post it here anyway, hopefully scaring the rest of you into submitting. I swear this is the worst of the lot. And anyway, I was holding back alright! You seemed to be enjoying my terrible fan-art too much… so lets see how you enjoy THIS! This deals with some more random characters, so I thought I’d give you a little reminder of who they are. So…remember when Shitou was called into the principals office to talk with Kaoru’s dad?

 

Hopefully that’s the last you’ll see of my hideous fan-art, thanks to Violet and Banana. Everyone else, please send in more, because it’s badass when you do. (Oh god listen to me I’m sounding so soppy and cheesy, what happened to me someone help me.)

Bad news

It saddens me to say that for once we are bringing you a post on an unfortunate note. The next post I made was supposed to bring a light hearted situation in the form of more terrible fan-art, but that will have to wait until Jackie and I cheer up a bit from this misfortune. 

Some of you may have noticed we had a really rude comment posted recently, and if you didn’t see, you may be the lucky one. Jackie and I remained unphased by this insulting an accusing flame, but, as I had dreaded, and had an inkling that this would happen. (Since there is no proof to link the flaming person to what happened I can not say for certain it was them, by the coincidence makes it highly likely)

Now for what actually happened- You all, loyal, and friendly readers, come to our blog to read chapters early and leave encouraging comments and make us happy, however someone disrespected this, and downloaded all of the chapters we have not posted on the manga readers such as mangafox yet, and uploaded those chapters themselves. This person was not affiliated with us, and I found it very insulting and disrespectful in how we clearly have a policy of releasing chapters on our website here in advance, to you honest people.

This upset both of us, and it makes me wary of trust. I do not want to deprive you guys, who have been so kind to us, because of this one person, but now that this person has made themselves apparent, I am not sure how to stop them from uploading our chapters in the future. I’ve seen scanlator websites have passwords for chapter releases, but I don’t want this to be the case, as it is unfair on the rest of you. If you have any suggestions we welcome them. Hopefully Jackie and I will be able to think about what we will do about it before our next post.

If that person is reading this, what I have to say to you is that you should be ashamed of your disrespect, especially as we disagree with your opinions on this matter and it does not give you a right to do this. But at least you credited us… I suppose. (Jackie also has something to say to you in her half, which I suggest you read since she is much nicer than I am)

I hope I can give you a post continuing with the silly fan art later on, but until then we want to reflect on this. Thank you everyone for your time, and please read Jackie’s section.

Jackie: Hi all. It’s been a long time since I’ve written a post. I wasn’t meaning to make my first appearance so depressing, but… sorry. I don’t think I can do funny and happy at the moment.

There are lots of occasions where you realize only after it happens to you, that – while you could understand on a mental and logical level – you could never truly understand the hurt, or joy of something until it happens to you.

Unfortunately, this one’s the former. It’s funny because while it is not our work, it IS our work. So something that is both not ours, and ours was taken without permission and it’s an odd kind of feeling.

When something you’ve worked on for hours and hours is taken from you without your permission, it’s just this messy ball of frustration, anger, and hurt that wells up in your chest and lodges itself there. I didn’t understand why scanlation groups would threaten to end a project if people continued to upload their work to aggregate sites without permission. Now I do.

It’s so tempting to try and punish the one person who hurt you by taking it out on everyone, banning everyone as if to say to the one person “see what you’ve done. You’re the one who’s taken this from them”. But I then I remember all your kind comments and your jokes and support and cheerfulness. And that thought dies.

It’s disheartening though. So this is a shameless plea for some comfort and cookies I guess.

Two more comments before I finish my budging in on Cae’s post.

1. We received a strongly worded concern a day ago that our ending credit page that we uploaded to the aggregate sites (like Mangafox) was very offensive. It was not meant to be. It was meant to be in humor, but I wanted to check. Those of you who read it, were you offended? If you were, I’m very sorry. I promise it was just meant as humor and was not intended to offend.

2. The person who uploaded our latest chapters onto the aggregate sites without seeking our permission first, did credit us when they uploaded. So if you are reading this, thank you for that. But please, please talk to us before you upload our chapters.

17k Views and Call to Fan Art

Yesterday/Today we had a new record visitors to the website, we had heaps of comments, with 274  visitors/people and over 17,000 views(each individual page counts as one). THAT’S AMAZING.

I attribute it to my genius of putting up chapter twelve on the manga readers and my fearsome prowess of telling people to comment or else.

While our stats are still going strong, I wanted to do a call to arms before it died down, calling you all to submit in some fan-art.

Some of you may have noticed, there has been one amazing fanart by MP since I made this blog, and as amazing as it was, I wish more people would submit.

And you don’t have to be amazing.

Now, I’m new to this ‘Ship’ thing that all the fangirls are going on about. I only recently discovered that it didn’t mean illegally cargo shipping human goods across the ocean on a boat… or something.

So, my dear fans.
If nobody submits fanart, then I am going to continuously draw terrible fan-art that looks horrible and also involves ‘ships’ you would NEVER want to see. EVER. Jackie told me she would cry if she saw some of these ships, so I know you don’t want to see them.

I’ll get working on the one she hates, but in the mean-time, I’ll give you some terribly drawn ships I drew up a few minutes ago.

So you better submit fan-art if you don’t want to see Jackie cry because she will cry at the next one I draw! (I’m also having good fun with this so it will be your fault for feeding my evilness)

 

How to submit Fanart?

(FYI for the newbies: To submit fanart look at the top of the page and hover over the tab that says “Stuff and Stuff” then click on the menu that says “Fan-art” there should be instructions on there to follow and you can see other fan-art.

The form might be on the Stuff and stuff page itself, which you get by just clicking the stuff and stuff tab. Scroll down the page and there should be a form titled “Form for contacting stuff” or something. Use that.

Chapter 15 Released

Not only am I able to read your thoughts, but I can also officially confirm that we are awesome. And YES, this is not an April fools joke. (Because if it was we would be the fools for doing it 4 days late.)

Jackie and I are feeling pretty smug about it. Well… maybe not smug. Just awesome. We did a massive rush and got it out to you earlier than expected after our months of laziness and postponing.

As you may see, I am trying to follow in Jackie’s footsteps by making my posts more… fun? And visual? But it’s going more along the lines of wondering where the heck do I find these pictures.. and which ones I should use and…

Page Cleaning Eye Candy

Okay so I know there are some ill-informed patrons out there in this wide world who look and see Jackie is the Translator and Cae is the editor/cleaner/thing, and they look at the page and think “Bah C is so useless why do they even need him whats the point of an editor. Bah how easy can it be to just cover some texts with white blobs hahahaha Jackie could do everything herself just as easily! (Which she used to and was super slow until I rescued her)
And I kind of need to let out my frustration because I work really hard and my work goes unnoticed, because I work really hard and then Jackie goes and covers it up with text again! That evil translator. So today after re-drawing several really tough things I had to redraw, I decided, stuff this, I’m going to show everyone what I accomplish and I’m not useless and I make your life awesome. So There. Take this gorgeous re-drawing master pieces from your most beloved, my fine self.

Probably most likely jackie and I have talked about slowly possibly 99% soon near future soon going to start doing chapter 15 soon maybe yes. As soon as we get off our butts.

MERRY (LATE) CHRISTMAS: Chapter 14 RELEASED

Merry Christmas everyone. Yes, I know we are a few days late, but considering how busy Jackie has been we aren’t far off our mark. It’s been a while, and I’m sure you will be thrilled to see we have completed chapter 14.

In this chapter you are in for some excitement. New characters; plot twists, sudden dramatic decisions. Either way, please enjoy.

These past few weeks have been busy for Jackie and lazy for me. We have done some catching up and finally got back into midnight-sun mode by the end of it. I’m on holiday so I have a lot of free time, and have been working on drawings almost every day. Jackie is still up to her neck in her teaching, but at least she has a bit of time to relax now.

Please leave us comments (I know jackie loves it when she hears from you guys) It’s always encouraging when we see people are following us and getting involved. It makes the work seem just a little more worthwhile and we may be inspired to next chapter sooner.
